Fears cyclist has been kidnapped after man is dragged into white van after argument

A cyclist who was dragged into a white van may have been kidnapped, police have said.

At around 8.30pm on Friday a confrontation broke out on the streets of Kingsthorpe village in Northampton.

It ended with a man who had been on a bicycle being dragged into the back of a white van which then drove off.

Northamptonshire Police have been unable to find the apparent victim over the weekend.

The force has now released a photo of the bicycle and CCTV footage of the cyclist, who was wearing a black hoodie at the time.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police told Northants Chronicle : “Between 8.30pm and 8.40pm on Friday May 1 a man on a bicycle was involved in an altercation before he was dragged into a white van which then drove off.

“A 36-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were both arrested in connection this incident and have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

“If anyone recognises the person in the image or the bicycle and who it might belong to, or may have seen anything relating to this incident, please contact us urgently on 101.
